Klonopin (clonazepam) is a medicine specially designed to be used in patients suffering from seizures (in most cases, however, it is combined with some other medicine). This medicine can be combined with other ones to treat some conditions – but never combine Klonopin with any medications without previously checking with your health care provider. Report to your health care provider any of the following medications you are taking at the moment to prevent them from interacting with Klonopin: antihistamines, antidepressants, tranquilizers, medications for anxiety, colds or allergies, painkillers, calcium channel blockers, seizures, certain antibiotics, sedatives, mental illness drugs, HIV protease inhibitors, rifampin, amiodarone, antifungals, nefazodone, sleeping pills, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and muscle relaxants. Klonopin, as most drugs, can sometimes cause mild side effects that have to be reported to your doctor only if they become severe and do not go away on their own after a couple of days of taking this medications regularly: frequent urination, muscle or joint pain, memory problems, changes in sex drive, drowsiness, problems with coordination, impotence, blurred vision, dizziness, and increased saliva.

In case you experience swelling of the face or lips, rash, hives, difficulty breathing, hoarseness, and trouble swallowing, call your doctor as soon as possible and report these serious side effects to him. Grapefruit juice has been reported to cause interactions with Klonopin. It's recommended to abstain from using grapefruit and any products that contain it unless your health care provider tells you it's okay. You may be prescribed a tablet form of Klonopin or disintegrating tablet. Depending on the form you will be required to either take Klonopin with a glass of water without crushing the tablet, or let the medicine dissolve in your mouth. Your health care provider may recommend taking Klonopin one to three times a day, and you need to follow this routine. Make sure you determine the exact time of the day when you will be taking your dosages of this medication, to avoid forgetting it. If you happened to miss s dose and it is almost time for the next one you can just skip the dose missed and go back to the normal dosing schedule.
